Worth reading if you’re in the business of software design, development and/or delivery. He’s the author of two of my personal favorites The Mythical Man-Month and The Design of Design. I was lucky enough to have The Mythical Man-Month passed on to me early in my career and it certainly influenced the my design approach, philosophies and general view of the creating software (and the business of). I’m completely virtual now with a fairly robust ‘private cloud’…here are a few tools that helped. Disk2vhd v1.5 (sysinternals) – Tool that creates VHDs from your hard disks…quickly move from physical to virtual. Awesome tool!! Two tools for creating iSCSI targets for win2008; both work well: iSCSI Cake MySAN I’ll try to post more soon. mikehouston.net Tags: hardware, technology

So, my wife’s new vehicle has Microsoft Sync. I had seen the goofy commercials and was not really interested. I’ve never enjoyed most of the voice activated goofiness in new consumer gadgets. Well, I was surprised. It took all of about 5 seconds to connect my HTC running WinMo 6.1. The features are great. total control over the phone’s functionality via the vehicle’s interface and voice commands: calling, visible address book, texting and media player. If you have a vehicle with synch it is totally worth having a WinMo phone.

What a POS! Looks cool…but just doesn’t work. This was given to me as a birthday present. BTW, E, I do appreciate the thought. I struggled with this silly thing for a few hours. Of course, after searching online, I find out it is a complete POS. The few people that did get it to work said it turned into a ‘brick’ within a few months of usage. Logitech has been no help at all to the people that purchased this model. Lucky for me the ‘retailer’ is going to credit the purchase. Logitech’s online support FAQ and forums are completely useless. The phone support wasn’t really useful, but at least the CSR was nice and admitted to me that this is an extremely common problem with the device (and that there is no known fix). For any of you out there, if you see the following in the initial setup give up on it and ask for a refund.
At the time of this post –> I am extremely pissed off at Logitech!
